Hello... Ask me questions, since my owner isn't making my food for me yet
Kumajirou is a small white bear who belongs to Canada. He often forgets who his owner is, and in return, Canada cannot remember his exact name. He is most likely a Polar bear, though some fans hypothesize he may be a Kermode bear instead. This has not been confirmed one way or another in the manga, although in one piece of art Germany does mistake Kumajirou for Knut (a baby polar bear from Germany), lending support to that idea. Another fan speculation is that Kumajiro represents Alaska because of how Alaska is a part of Canada's geography but is not a part of the nation.

He isn't so much as talented, more like...not qualified in anything special. That's why his cutie mark hasn't "appeared" yet.
Kumajiro represents Canada's tribal spirituality. He came from one of the First Nation tribes and was given to Canada early on. Canada made a promise to the tribes that he would keep them safe, and Kumajiro is used as a reminder for that promise. If something happens to Kumajiro, then it means that the tribes are hurting.
He actually does remember who Canada is. He's Canada's most beloved and loyal friend, of course he'd remember. The only reason he asks is because Canada has gone through so many names such as Kanata, Nouvelle France, The Domination of Canada, and finally Canada, that Kumajiro asks just to make sure he gets it right. He wouldn't want to make a mistake after all. He cares too much to do that. But most importanly, he asks to help remind Canada who he is sometimes, because when the rest of the world forgets who you are, someone has to remind you.
Kumajiro tends to steal Canada’s food when he’s not paying attention. He’s also a messy eater, making it extremely difficult for him to get away with it without Canada noticing right away.
